For the second week in a row the odds makers were right on the mark as there was another even split with the totals bet. Eight games stayed under their total and eight games went over. After 14 weeks of action the playoff picture in the NFC is coming into focus. New Orleans won their 13th straight game beating Atlanta 26-23. With this win the Saints have clinched a first round bye and are in excellent position to have home field advantage throughout the playoffs. Let the debate begin as to which team; Minnesota or New Orleans is the best team in the NFC. After watching both teams take apart yet another team right now I would call it a draw. Last week’s totals results reversed a two week trend that slightly favored the under bet, with nine games going over the total and only six staying under. All six games that stayed under did so by double digits. The 49ers and Bears combined for only 16 points with a 43.5 total line. With big wins last week, the 7-0 New Orleans Saints and the 6-1 Minnesota Vikings have put themselves at the top of the heap in the NFC. The big showdown in the NFC last week between the N.Y. Giants and Saints turned into an ambush as New Orleans scored five touchdowns in the first half on route to a 48 -27 drubbing in the Big Easy.
