The No. 2 Ducks will need a perfect run if they want to keep their national title hopes alive, but they haven’t posted a victory at USC in nearly a decade. The No. 24 Trojans will attempt to seek revenge for a 47-20 loss in Eugene last year that ended their run of seven straight PAC-10 titles to the Ducks. The “Eugene Machine” appears unstoppable, rolling over opponents by an average of 55 points while racking up nearly 600 yards of offense per game. While the USC defense was impressive, holding Cal scoreless until late in the third quarter in its last outing, they haven’t faced the likes of the nation’s top rusher, LaMichael James, who is averaging 161 yards a game, and quarterback Darron Thomas who is coming off a career-high 308 yards and three touchdowns against UCLA. I am sure that the Trojans will put up a valiant effort, but the victors shall proclaim, “That Troy has fallen.”.
