Carolina @ Tampa Bay Over/Under: 36 ½
The offensive futility of Carolina is threatening to break several team records and possibly some NFL ones too. The only major offensive category the Panthers are not ranked dead last in the league is average rushing yards per game; they are ranked 26th.
Tampa Bay’s offense can hardly be considered a juggernaut either. The Buccaneers are ranked 21st overall; 19th in passing and 19th in rushing. They are averaging 19.6 points per game; ranking them 21st in the league.
The total has stayed ‘under’ in six of the Panthers’ last seven games overall and in their last five against the NFC South. The total has stayed ‘under’ in six of the Buccaneers’ last seven home games and in seven of their last eight games against the NFC South. The Pick: UNDER
New York Jets @ Cleveland Over/Under: 37 ½
Other than New York’s 10-9 loss to Baltimore and its 9-0 loss to Green Bay, its offense has averaged 28.8 points per game and scored over 30+ points twice in those six games. A revitalized LaDainian Tomlinson has gained 599 yards on 123 carries for the Jet’s fourth ranked rushing offense.
Cleveland racked-up 404 yards of total offense is last Sunday’s stunning 34-14 upset of New England. Browns RB Peyton Hillis leads the team with 644 rushing yards on 133 carries and seven touchdowns. Rookie QB Colt McCoy has completed 67.6 percent of his passes in his first three starts.
The total has gone ‘over’ in the Jets’ last five road games and in six of their last seven games overall. The total has gone ‘over’ in the Browns’ last four games against the AFC and in five of their last six games overall. The Pick: OVER
Seattle @ Arizona Over/Under: 41
Seattle’s defense has given up 74 points in its last two games and is giving up an average of 22.6 points per game for the season. Seahawk QB Matt Hasselbeck is expected back for this game after missing last week with a concussion.
Arizona’s defense is ranked 28th in the league in points allowed; giving up an average of 28.1 points per game. The Cardinals are averaging 19.6 points per game, but have combined for 59 points in their past two games.
The total has gone ‘over’ in nine of the last 13 games between these two teams including all six of the games that they played in Arizona. The Pick: OVER
