You’d have more luck doing online casino wagering than trying to figure out what is wrong in Phoenix right now, and it could be any number of things: rumors of a move to Winnipeg are getting louder, their goalie is playing terribly, and they could be just getting outclassed by a better team. The Coyotes have their backs against the wall against Detroit on Wednesday night, and we don’t think Phoenix can stop the Red Wings from moving to the next round.
Red Wings Coyotes Betting – Wednesday, 10:30 PM ET
The Red Wings scored twice in the first 2:41 of a 4-2 win in Phoenix in Game 3 on Monday night, and those who bet on Kentucky Derby odds will you that a fast start is critical to getting a victory. Ruslan Salei, Drew Miller, Valtteri Filppula and Johan Franzen all found the back of the net, while Niklas Kronwall added a couple of assists and Jimmy Howard stopped 28 shots for the Red Wings, who have now outscored the Coyotes 5-1 in the first period. Detroit is extremely tough to play when they have a lead as they’re a veteran team who doesn’t get rattled easily, and the Coyotes looked rattled less than three minutes into the game.
David Schlemko and Ray Whitney responded for the Coyotes, while Ilya Bryzgalov made 30 saves, but the Phoenix netminder hasn’t been at his best during this series, posting a 4.11 GAA and a .881 save percentage. The Coyotes got to this point because of the strong play of Bryzgalov, who has been tabbed as a potential Vezina candidate, but Howard has outplayed him in this series, and the Coyotes need him to step up if they’re going to avoid going down in four games.
You shouldn’t need a price per head bookie to tell you that the Red Wings will probably be favored in this elimination game, as they smell blood in the water. The Coyotes look like a team that isn’t focused, and you have to wonder how the talks over their impending move to Winnipeg are affecting the team. And on top of that, Bryzgalov is going to be a free agent at the end of the season, and he looks like he’s not 100% into this series. The Red Wings look like a team that has heard everyone say that the Coyotes could upset them, and they’re motivated to prove that last year’s seven-game series was a fluke. Detroit is outclassing Phoenix in every facet of the game, and we think that even if Phoenix jump out to a lead, the Red Wings will come back because they don’t get rattled and they never think they’re out of a game. Take Detroit in your sports betting book.
