NFL Betting – The Kids are Alright

In the world of the NFL, rookies are boosted by hype but grounded by being hazed by veterans. The best online sportsbook knows that NFL veterans just want to win football games. To a professional athlete, there is almost nothing more humiliating than losing on a regular basis. That is why NFL rookies always try to downplay the hype being thrown at them before and after the draft. When entire franchises try to lay the pressure of winning right away on an NFL rookie, then that can be something which destroys the rookie’s career before it even gets started.

In the last two years, the rookies that have been drafted by NFL teams seem to be responding better to the pressures being placed on them. For the online NFL betting crowd, a rookie that lives up to expectations means that the rookie must be figured into the betting system each week. It used to be difficult for top rated NFL rookies to live up to expectations. But it seems like the kids are alright these days and that more and more rookies are adapting well to life in the NFL.

Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton lead the class of NFL rookies that seemed to adapt very well to life in the NFL. WhenNewtoncame into the NFL, the Panthers instantly dumped the future of the franchise on his shoulders. Rather than collapsing under the pressure of the expectations,Newtonembraced them and put on quite a show. He broke several rookie passing records and was a lock for the NFL offensive rookie of the year award. As great asNewtonhandled the pressure, he was not the only one that came through for his team.

The Cincinnati Bengals had no idea what it was going to do when quarterback Carson Palmer was finally released. The team hesitantly handed the ball to rookie quarterback Andy Dalton andDaltonpromptly took the team to the playoffs.Daltonhad some help from standout rookie wide receiver A.J. Green. The two excited Bengals fans and created hope for theCincinnatifuture.

A 5 dimes review of rookie wide receiver Julio Jones was added to an Atlanta Falcons offense that already featured quarterback Matt Ryan and wide receiver Roddy White. Jones made an almost instant impact and helped to bolster anAtlanta passing attack that seemed to be struggling the year before.

The 2012 NFL draft class included names such as Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III. Luck became the quarterback of the Indianapolis Colts and RG3 is the quarterback inWashington. Both will be the starters when the season opens and both are already handling the hype and the pressure very well. It looks like NFL rookies have come a long way from the days when Ryan Leaf would explode at reporters in the locker room or Brian Bosworth would have t-shirts printed about how much people hated him just so he could capitalize on his instant fame.
