Denver Broncos @ New England Patriots – Sunday October 7, 2012 4:25PM EST
The online football betting experts are kind of starting to agree that there is more than just a little to be concerned about with the New England Patriots. If you bet on sports, then you know that a blow out of the Buffalo Bills is not that unusual. If the Bills had put up a strong fight and the Patriots blew them out, then that would be one thing. But this Buffalo team didn’t even show up for the second half of the week four destruction by the Patriots, and the game could have given false hope to Patriots’ fans. But New England head coach Bill Belichick knows that beating the Buffalo Bills is not nearly as difficult as beating the Denver Broncos.
It looks like Peyton Manning may finally be on track in Denver. Manning and the Broncos’ offense managed to put up 37 points on the Oakland Raiders in a week four rout of their own. The most impressive part of the Denver game was the way the defense played. With the Denver defense back on track and Peyton Manning throwing touchdowns, the Broncos come into this game as a very serious threat to the New England Patriots.
New England Patriots
Despite the performance against Buffalo in week four, the Patriots’ secondary is a mess. The legal online sports betting world thought it would see an improved Patriots defensive backfield in 2012 and that is just not the case. A quarterback like Peyton Manning will pick this young secondary apart. With the New England defensive line unable to create any pressure on Manning, it could be a very long day for the Patriots’ defense. The Pats’ offense needs to be ready for a Denver team that loves to blitz. It will be a much different defense than the one that New England faced in week four.
Denver Broncos
In week four, it looked like a switch went on in Peyton Manning’s head and he was suddenly hitting all of his receivers all over the field. Manning methodically took apart the Oakland defense, and he will do the same thing in New England. The 5dimes betting experts were wondering when the real Denver Broncos defense was going to show up, and it finally showed up in week four. Denver is starting to hit on all cylinders and that is an extremely bad thing for the rest of the AFC.
The Bottom Line
The New England Patriots still seem like a patchwork of players being held together by the thinnest of threads. The Denver Broncos has all of the tools it needs to exploit the weaknesses in the New England game and come away from this one with a huge AFC win.
