NBA Basketball – Streaking Teams Face Off In Miami

2011 March Madness betting odds may be on the minds of the young guns in Oklahoma City, but they’ve remained focused as the Thunder have won four in a row as they head into Miami on Wednesday night. However, the Heat have looked like they’re back on track, and this could be the best game of the week for NBA betting players.

Thunder Heat Betting – Wednesday, 8:00 PM ET

The Thunder put up 68 points in the first half of their 116-89 romp in Washington on Monday, and they outscored the Wizards 32-16 in the open court. Former Texas star Kevin Durant led the way with 32 points, while Russell Westbrook (UCLA) added 18 points and 12 assists for the Thunder, who also got 18 off the bench from Daequan Cook (Ohio State) and another 16 off the pine from James Harden (Arizona State). As we said, the Thunder are one of the youngest teams in the league and will likely be filling out a March Madness bracket amongst themselves, but they won’t let that get in the way of their current winning streak, which is at four games.

The Heat are on their own roll, as they got some payback on San Antonio with a 110-80 blowout at home on Monday. Miami was run out of San Antonio on March 4th, losing by 30, so you have to think that the Heat were extra motivated to win their third game in a row. Chris Bosh (Georgia Tech) dropped a game-high 30 points, along with 12 rebounds, while Dwyane Wade (Marquette) added 29 points for the Heat, who shot 53.8% from the field, they outrebounded the Spurs 47-33 and outscored them in the paint 46-34. Just two weeks ago, we though the sky was falling in Miami, but now, the bandwagon is getting full again as the Heat get their act together for the stretch run.

NBA betting odds should favor the Heat at home in this contest, even though they’re 1-1 SU and 0-2 ATS against the Thunder in Miami since the visitors moved from Seattle and Oklahoma City. The Heat came away with a 108-103 win in Oklahoma City on January 30th, but the Thunder will now have Kendrick Perkins in the lineup for the second game after he was traded from Boston. Perkins had a knee injury which kept him on the sidelines, but he played 20 minutes in Washington, posting six points and nine boards, and he gives the Thunder a formidable low-post presence against a team who loves to get into the paint. Still, we’re giving the edge to the Heat because they’re at home, and their defense is much better than Oklahoma City, which means they’ll be able to get a key stop late in the game that we don’t know if the Thunder can make. Take Miami when you’re betting online on Wednesday.
