Those betting on March Madness know how important momentum is, and the same rules apply in the NBA, where two of the league’s hottest teams will meet on Wednesday. New York is looking to improve their standing in the East, while Memphis is just trying to hold onto the final playoff spot in the West.
Knicks Grizzlies Betting – Wednesday, 8:00 PM ET
The Knicks raced out to a 16-point halftime lead and cruised to a 131-109 win at home over Utah, and New York fans got a glimpse into what Carmelo Anthony and Amare Stoudemire can really do. Anthony dropped 34 points, while Stoudemire added 31 as the Knicks shot 56.1% from the field, hitting 13 of their 26 three-point chances. NHL betting players know that you can’t just have one star to go far, and the Knicks went out and got Anthony to pair up with Stoudemire, and the Knicks, who have now won seven of their last 10, have one of the most powerful one-two punches in the league.
The Grizzlies have also won seven of their last 10 after a 107-101 win at home over Oklahoma City, and all five starters notched double figures in points. Mike Conley and Tony Allen led the way with 20 points apiece, while Marc Gasol had 18 points for the Grizzlies, who had 15 offensive rebounds to eight for the Thunder, and they dominated in the paint, outscoring the Thunder 68-46. The Grizzlies are getting hot at the right time, and their young collection of talent is coming together. That they are doing it with Rudy Gay on the injured list is even more impressed, and Memphis could be this year’s edition of Oklahoma City.
This could be the best game for ticket buyers paying a high price per head, and the Grizzlies should be the home favorites, where they are 22-9 SU and 19-11-1 ATS. The Grizzlies are 3-2 SU and 1-3-1 ATS at home in their last five meetings with the Knicks, who are 15-16 SU away from Madison Square Garden, but a sparkling 22-8-1 ATS. The Grizzlies are going to have to figure out a way to slow down the duo of Anthony and Stoudemire, who shot a combined 24-of-31 against the Jazz, and their best bet may be to attack them, particularly Stoudemire, and try to get them in foul trouble. The Grizzlies also have a guy in Shane Battier who is used to guarding the best perimeter players in the league, and he’s a smart guy who will make Anthony work for his points. Four of the last five meetings between these two have gone over the posted total, and this could very well do the same. We’re taking Memphis by a slight margin in our online sports betting picks.
