Minnesota Vikings (1-2) at New York Jets (3-1)
Monday October 11 – 8:30PM
Moneyline: New York Jets -200
Spread Favourite: New York Jets -4
Over/Under: 39
There is always a lot of interest in Monday Night Football but there is even more intrigue with the recent trade of Randy Moss to Minnesota. This is a massive upgrade for the Vikings and Brett Favre who has struggled mightily this season. Even with the addition I was surprised to the see the spread so low in this one, it is essentially saying the teams are about even except for the home field. The way the Jets are playing after that ugly opener I certainly don’t see it that way.
Darrelle Revis’ hamstring concerns aside the Jets are flying high these days. The running game is rocking and Santonio Holmes is now available to Mark Sanchez in the passing game. Even if Revis isn’t available to lock down moss this weekend fellow corner Antonio Cromartie proved a couple of weeks ago he was was up to the task. Adrian Peterson is a top back but the Jets have been shutting down opponents running games all season long.
The Pick: I think the Jets will soar during this prime time contest, reaffirming those who see them as Super Bowl bound. They should easily cover the spread in the process.
