Top 5 NFL Fantasy Draft Wide Receivers for 2010
Part of betting during the NFL season involves tracking your fantasy football team. One of the main components of a fantasy football team is the wide receivers. NFL football betting experts know that when you choose a receiver in a fantasy draft, you need to make sure that he has a good quarterback throwing to him. Here are the top five wide receivers that you should consider for your fantasy draft this season, and they are in no particular order.
Andre Johnson – Houston Texans
In the days when Andre Johnson affected college football betting, he was a game changer. In the pros, he started out as the only effective weapon on an ineffective team. However, the Houston Texans are starting to enter into playoff conversations for this season. In order for the Texans to realize their playoff aspirations, they need quarterback Matt Schaub and Johnson to hook up in the endzone on a regular basis. Just as it was in the last two seasons, that will be the case again this season.
Randy Moss – New England Patriots
Regardless of where you place the New England Patriots in your NFL preseason betting, you can rest assured that the combination of Tom Brady to Randy Moss will yield yards and touchdowns this season. Brady has as many quality targets as any elite quarterback in the league, but he saves his long distance throwing for Moss. As soon as Randy Moss arrived, Tom Brady realized that all he needed to do was throw the ball in Moss’ direction and the tall and strong wide receiver would go up and get it. Ever since then, they have been one of the most prolific passing duos in the NFL.
Reggie Wayne – Indianapolis Colts
It is difficult to pick one receiver in the Colts offense that Peyton Manning prefers to throw to ever since Marvin Harrison left the team. But if you had to choose one, it would be Reggie Wayne. The only thing to watch for when drafting Wayne is that Peyton Manning, probably more than any other quarterback in the league, likes to spread the ball out to all of his receivers. So while Wayne is a quality receiver and Manning is a quality quarterback, there is a chance that Wayne may not get the ball as much as a Randy Moss or Andre Johnson. That is the burden of being on a team with too much offensive talent.
Brandon Marshall – Miami Dolphins
One of the knocks on Brandon Marshall is his attitude. It was his attitude that got him in trouble in Denver, and it was his attitude that got him sent to Miami. But even with the bad attitude, Brandon Marshall is a receiver that produces yards and touchdowns. Miami quarterback Chad Henne is no Dan Marino, but Henne can throw the deep ball much better than Chad Pennington could. That means lots of yards and touchdowns for Brandon Marshall.
Miles Austin – Dallas Cowboys
If the Cowboys are going to be the first team to play in a Super Bowl as the actual home team in their own building, then the combination of Tony Romo to Miles Austin needs to be prolific this season. The main thing working against Austin is the talent that Romo has to choose from when he sets back to pass. Does he throw to Austin? What about Bryant? How about Patrick Crayton? Then there is the possibility that Roy Williams will still be with the team and add yet another option to Romo’s playbook. Austin is the number one receiver, and if he can get open then he will catch for a lot of touchdowns and yards this season.
