The Hot New York Giants are home this Sunday to a Seattle Seahawks team that has had its share of problems winning on the road, particularly in the Eastern time zone. Seattle, coming off a hard fought and somewhat impressive home loss to the Atlanta Falcons take a 1-3 record into Sunday`s game against a Giants squad that has not lost since Week 1. New York is currently listed as a 10 point favorite with the Total set at 43.5 points.

Seattle has been getting better. A struggling offense has been bolstered by the return of Sidney Rice to the lineup and the newfound confidence of the much maligned Tavaris Jackson. In two games Rice has 188 yards receiving on 11 catches while Jackson passed for 319 yards and three touchdowns against the Falcons last week. The problems are plentiful still for the Hawks – they have the second worst offensive line in the NFL allowing 14 sacks and they have the league`s second worst rushing attack with an average of just 67.5 yards per game.
Seattle`s defense will be tested on Sunday. This unit has looked decent at times especially against the run but are allowing an incredible 33 points per game.
The New York Giants are 3-1 and fully deserving of their NFC East leading record. They have been limiting mistakes and they never appear to be out of a game – astounding considering the injuries that this team has been forced to deal with early in the season. Eli Manning is largely responsible for New York’s success. He has thrown six touchdowns in his last two games and has now gone 90 passes without throwing an all-too-familiar interception. Hakeem Nicks is recovered from injury as evidenced by his 10 catch, 163 yards, one touchdown effort last week and Victor Cruz has been a revelation in the Giants passing game.
The Giants running game has had its share of critics this season but has been steadily improving as the season is rolling on. Ahmad Bradshaw and Brandon Jacobs will get a real chance to showcase their prowess this week in a game that they should control. Expect a good performance from the two headed rushing machine this week.
New York`s defense has been solid despite playing without Justin Tuck and Osi Umenyiora. Both should be active this week to terrorize the sieve like Seattle offensive line. They will be a welcome addition to a unit that has allowed 116.5 yards per game this season (128 in Week 3 and 138 in Week 4).
Betting Outlook: The Seahawks are a notoriously bad road team. They have lost both road games this season by an average of 20 points and are 0-9 in their last nine games in the Eastern time zone.
New York is simply rolling at the moment and should continue to do so this weekend. Eli Manning is playing his best ball of the last couple of years and the defense appears healthy for the first time this season. New York`s one weakness is their run defense, a unit that shouldn`t have much problem containing a Seattle rushing attack that have averaged just 67.5 yards per game this season.
This game has blowout written all over it. New York is Hot – Seattle is not! 10 points don`t scare me at all – the Giants will role on Sunday and send a message to the rest of the NFC East in the process!
Pick: New York Giants -10
