The Saints six-game winning streak came to a halt last week at the hands of Baltimore, but at 10-4 they are all but guaranteed a wildcard spot even if they lose this game. A win over Atlanta would keep their faint division chances alive but more importantly set the stage for the playoffs should these two teams happen to meet again.
The Falcons are a perfect 6-0 at home this season but have hardly been dominant. Their closest call was a two-point 16-14 win over San Francisco in Week 4 and they have won their last four at home by a combined 21 points.
New Orleans is 1-4 ATS in their last five games against the Falcons and 3-8 ATS in their last 11 against the NFC South. Atlanta is 5-1 ATS in its last six games against the NFC South and 6-0 ATS in its last six overall. The total has gone ‘over’ in five of the last six meetings. The Saints rally to avoid losing two games in a row, but they are simply putting off the inevitable as the Falcons know they can clinch next week with a win over 2-12 Carolina.
The odds makers have the Atlanta Falcons as a -2.5 point favorite with an over/under of 48.5.
