The Redskins’ 17-13 loss to Minnesota last week puts them in basically a must-win situation against New York this week. Washington’s offense has been inconsistent this season but its defense has been downright bad. Overall, it is ranked dead last in the league and 25th in points allowed.
The Giants needed a fourth quarter rally to pull out a 24-20 win over Jacksonville last week, halting a two game skid. Their defense is still ranked second overall, but has given up a total of 80 points in the last three games after giving up an average of 20 points in their first eight.
Washington is 1-4-1 ATS in its last six road games against the Giants. New York is 4-10 ATS in its last 14 games as a favorite. The total has stayed ‘under’ in six of the last seven games played in New York. Redskins lose a close one, but still cover with the seven points.
The odds makers have the New York Giants as a -7 point favorite with an over/under of 43.5.
