Green Bay is well on its way to defending its Super Bowl title with a dominating 4-0 straight-up start (3-1 against the spread) that has taken nobody by surprise. Atlanta has been hard to figure out so far with an overall record of 2-2 SU (1-3 ATS). It was blasted by Chicago 30-12 on opening day as a one-point road favorite, but bounced back with a big 35-31 victory over Philadelphia as a 2.5-point home underdog. Last week, the Falcons struggled to get by Seattle 30-28 as six-point home favorites. The total has gone ‘over’ in three of their four games.
The play of quarterback Matt Ryan has been indicative of his team’s with 1,135 yards passing and six TD’s, but four interceptions and an overall passer rating of 84.8. The Packers are 5-1 ATS in their last six road games and the total has stayed ‘under’ in seven of their last eight games as a road favorite.
The Falcons are 5-1 ATS in their last six games as a home underdog and the total has gone ‘over’ in five of their last eight home games.
Green Bay rolled to a 48-21 victory over Atlanta as a one-point underdog in last year’s playoffs, but is just 2-5 ATS in the last seven meetings. The Falcons will not be able to knock the Packers from the ranks of the unbeaten, but take them to cover with the six points.
The odds makers have the Green Bay Packers as a -6 point favorite with an over/under of 53.
