NFL odds are posted for the weekend and there are some very big games on the schedule – particularly on Sunday and Monday night. Let’s make some NFL picks, shall we?
Indianapolis Colts (-3.5) vs Houston Texans
Sunday, November 29, 1:00 p.m. ET
After yet another Kris Brown kicking debacle, the Houston Texans may be sliding back into also-ran status after many NFL betting experts thought this was the year they finally break through. The problem is that they still can’t stop elite or even above-average NFL offenses. No matter how well Matt Schaub plays, how can we trust a porous Texans defense against Peyton Manning? The Colts are 14-1 all-time against them and there’s no reason to bet against history.
Sports betting pick: Colts -3.5
Pittsburgh Steelers (No line) vs Baltimore Ravens
Sunday, November 29, 8:20 p.m. ET
After Big Ben Roethlisberger’s concussion last week, sportsbooks are holding off on the line until we get confirmation that he’ll play. Though he’s expected to, I can’t help but wonder if he’ll be tentative facing in the pocket after taking a bit shot last week. The Ravens are due for a win and Joe Flacco should have an easier time stretching the field than normal with Troy Polamalu likely out of the lineup for the Steelers. This game could really go either way but I think the Steelers will stumble again on the road.
Sports betting pick: Ravens
New England Patriots vs New Orleans Saints (-1.5)
Monday, November 30, 8:35 p.m. ET
A surprising number of bettors are piling on the Patriots for the Monday nighter, pointing to Tom Brady’s legendary status and his great chemistry with Randy Moss and Wes Welker. But a closer suggests the Saints will shine again. The Pats last faced an elite offense in Week 10 and couldn’t stop Peyton Manning to save their lives in the fourth quarter. The Saints have an even better offense than Indy’s. They’re also equipped to start stopping the run effectively again with big Sedrick Ellis set to return at nose tackle. The Saints are at home and the Pats are 1-3 on the road this season. Why all the support for New England?
Sports betting pick: Saints -1.5
