The online sports betting focus shifts north of the border for week two of the NFL preseason, as the Buffalo Bills welcome the Indianapolis Colts to Toronto, Ontario, Canada for their annual preseason contest at the Rogers centre. The NFL continues to grow the product outside of the United States, and it will be crucial for the Bills to put on a good show with their starters on the field, something that will likely weigh in when the final result for this game is posted. Both the Colts and Bills opened with lopsided losses in Week One of the preseason, and it will be interesting to see how both teams are able to bounce back from the early setbacks.
NFL Preseason Week Two
Indianapolis Colts vs Buffalo Bills
Thursday August 19, 2010 – 8:00 PM ET
Rogers Centre, Toronto, Ontario
NFL Betting Line: Bills – 130
Betting Preview: Colts
It can hardly be considered more than a scrimmage when Indianapolis takes to the field for a preseason contest, especially considering the spot-on timing of Pro Bowl quarterback Peyton Manning once the regular season gets underway. The Colts are not deep on either side of the ball at key positions such as quarterback, running back, and along the defensive line, so very much cannot be expected of them as far as the final result goes. Look for Indianapolis to jump out to the early lead while their top unit is out there, with the Bills coming back over the final two quarters to pull out the desired result.
Betting Preview: Bills
There are more question marks than there are answers for the Buffalo Bills heading in to the 2010-11 season, especially given that their new head coach Chan Gailey was a secondary option that didn’t even last as a coordinator for another team that didn’t make the playoffs a year ago. Trent Edwards has yet to bounce back from the concussions that may very well have ruined his career a year ago, and the Bills are lacking at several of the skill positions. The one area that Buffalo does not have a problem in is at running back, where Marshawn Lynch and college football betting superstar CJ Spiller will combine a potent duo capable of making the big plays. But without a legitimate passing game, life could get difficult for a pair even as talented as they are.
Match Up: Colts vs Bills
The Bills will continue to work hard to try and convince their fans both in Toronto and back home that they are a legitimate contender this preseason, and will likely pull out the win. The better football betting option here may be to take the Colts first quarter, as it will be difficult for Buffalo to slow the powerful Indianapolis attack on the turf inside the confines of the Rogers centre.
NFL Betting Pick: Bills – 130
