2010 NFC West – Win Totals Preview, Predictions & Picks
As all 32 teams are in training camp preparing for the 2010 NFL football season, it is time to take a look at the projected win total for each team to try and determine whether they will go over, stay under, or push. Today we take a look at each team in the NFC West.
San Francisco 49ers – Win Total Prediction: 8 ½
As Mike Singletary enters his second full year as head coach, the general feeling is that this team is poised to take the next step in 2010. With the imminent demise of Arizona the door is wide open for San Francisco to take back the NFC West this season. They are the most balanced team in the division and should be able to lineup up every week with a chance to win. They are not going to roll over anybody, but they will not be rolled over themselves adding up to a very workmanlike season that results in a division title.
Arizona Cardinals – Win Total Prediction: 7 ½
This team is now facing life after Warner; which is a scary proposition for everyone involved. You cannot underestimate the value that Kurt Warner brought to this team. You could probably attribute four or five wins last season directly to his play. Leinart could still end up being a great quarterback in this league but there is no way he will replace all the production that Warner provided his first full season as the starter.
Seattle Seahawks – Win Total Prediction: 7 ½
In an effort to turn around a perennial playoff team that has only won nine game in the last two years, Seattle brought in Pete Carroll as their new head coach. Carroll has immediately raised the hopes and expectations of the entire franchise that they can turn things around this year. Time will tell whether or not this is actually the case. With Arizona falling back a bit, the Seahawks have a legitimate chance to be right in the thick of the NFC West.
St. Louis Rams – Win Total Prediction: 5
The St. Louis Rams are taking some solid steps to turning the team around. Head coach Steve Spagnuolo is entering his second season with the optimism that his team will be far more competitive this season than they were the previous three. St. Louis is still in the early stages of a major rebuilding process but they are adding the right pieces to the puzzle. They will not be ready to compete for the division this season, but do not be surprised if they pull off a few upsets along the way.
