NFC Top 3 Matchups- Week 12
The 2010 NFL season heads into the final six weeks with more questions than answers in the NFC, as all four divisions are still very much up for grabs and there is a log jam of teams fighting for one of the six spots in the postseason. Philadelphia is 7-3 and leads the 6-4 New York Giants by one game in the East with Washington hanging around at 5-5. Green Bay and Chicago are tied atop the North at 7-3 in a two-team race. Atlanta has the best record in the conference at 8-2, but has New Orleans and Tampa Bay breathing down its neck, just one game back in the South. The West is wide open with Seattle leading the way at 5-5, with St. Louis at 4-6 and San Francisco and Arizona very much alive at 3-7
Here is a look at my top three matchups in the NFC for Week 12 of the NFL season. All odds are provided by BetUs.com.
New Orleans (-4) @ Dallas Over/Under: 51
New Orleans appears to be back on track to making another run at the top spot in the conference. The Saints have won their last three and are starting to put points on the board like they did last year. They have scored 30 or more points in three of their last five games and are now averaging 23.5 per game for the year.
Dallas is 2-0 under interim head coach Jason Garrett and would love nothing more than to put on a good performance in front of a national television audience on Thanksgiving Day. Backup quarterback John Kitna has thrown six touchdowns and just one interception in those two wins.
The Saints are 5-1 ATS in their last five games against Dallas and 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall. The Cowboys are 2-6 ATS in their last eight games against the NFC and 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games overall. The total has gone ‘over’ in Dallas’s last seven games overall. Look for New Orleans to steal the show in Big D.
Green Bay @ Atlanta (-2) Over/Under: 47 ½
Green Bay QB Aaron Rodgers has been on fire during the Packers current four game winning streak. He has thrown nine TD’s and just two interceptions in those four games, completing 63.9 percent of his passes.
Atlanta QB Matt Ryan has been even better during his team’s current four game winning streak with nine TD’s against just one interception. He has completed 67 percent of his passes during this span and now has thrown 18 TD passes on the year and just five picks.
The Packers are 1-4 ATS in their last five games against Atlanta, but the road team and underdog are each 5-0 ATS in the last five games between these two. The total has gone ‘over’ in four of their last five meetings. This one should come down to the wire, but stick with Green Bay to pull out a win late in the fourth.
Philadelphia (-3 ½) @ Chicago Over/Under: 42
QB Michael Vick leads a Philadelphia offense that can beat you in a number of different ways. Everyone realizes the deep threat capability of WR DeSean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin, but RB LeSean McCoy actual leads the team in receptions with 51. He also leads the Eagles’ third ranked rushing offense with 726 yards on 146 carries.
Chicago’s defense remains the cornerstone of this team as it is ranked third in the league overall; giving up an average of 290.4 total yards per game. They are ranked 12th against the pass and second against the run. The Bears lead the league in points allowed; giving up just 14.6 per game.
The Eagles are 6-1 ATS in their last seven games as a road favorite and 4-0 ATS in their last four games against the NFC. The Bears are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 home games. The total has stayed ‘under’ in four of the last five games between these two. Stick with Philly to stay on a roll with another solid win on the road.
