The teams making up the 2010 NFC East are the Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, Philadelphia Eagles, and Washington Redskins. Last season the Dallas Cowboys won the NFC East with a 11-5 record. And the 11-5 Philadelphia Eagles earned a playoff spot. While the New York Giants (8-8) and Washington Redskins (4-12) watched the playoffs from the comfort of their own homes. The Eagles lost to the Cowboys in the Wild-Card Weekend game 34-14. Followed by the Minnesota Vikings quickly ending the Cowboys season in the Divisional Playoff game 34-3. Now that the 2010-2011 season is approaching, here are our season NFC East team previews & predictions from the top NFL handicappers.
2010 Dallas Cowboys Preview
The Cowboys had a breakthrough year in 2009 by putting the demons of past season collapses behind them with a winning December, a NFC East Title, and a victory over Philadelphia in the playoffs. Given the high profile nature of this team, the bar has been raised even higher for 2010. Nothing short of a Super Bowl appearance is expected and will be accepted by the team’s owner Jerry Jones and the players themselves.

2010 New York Giants Preview
After a strong 5-0 start to the 2009 season things unraveled quickly for New York. The biggest test ahead for head coach Tom Coughlin is to rebuild the confidence that made them winners. They went on to lose eight of their next 11 games and miss the playoffs after winning the Super Bowl just two seasons earlier. Much of the success of the Giants will be determined by how quickly they can come back together as team to regain the form that made them so good in the past. The one problem may be that Coughlin’s hard nose act is starting to wear thin with the players. If they stumble off to a bad start it could send them on a path of no return.

2010 Philadelphia Eagles Preview
For the first time in 11 years head coach Andy Reid will have not have Donovan McNabb as his starting quarterback heading into the start of the season. With McNabb traded to Washington this offseason, Reid will turn to four year veteran Kevin Kolb. With all the changes on this team, the Eagles could either run away with the East or fall off the map. I see them ending up somewhere in between. Reid is still one of the top coaches in the league and there is enough talent on this team to win on a consistent basi.

2010 Washington Redskins Preview
Philadelphia’s loss is Washington’s gain and with the addition of Donovan McNabb, for the first time in awhile they have a true franchise type quarterback behind center. The Redskins are counting on him still having enough left in the tank to turn this team around and by all indications that is exactly what McNabb expects from himself. The Redskins are still missing a few key pieces in order to make a serious run at the division title but they will be much better than their four win total in 2009.
