2010 Detroit Lions Schedule Preview
The Detroit Lions, coming off their ninth consecutive losing season, are hoping to make progress under second-year coach Jim Schwartz and quarterback Matthew Stafford, who showed flashes last season. The schedule-makers didn’t do them any favors, though. For as bad as the Lions were last season, they didn’t actually catch much of a break with a “last-place” schedule in 2010. The best news for them is playing three straight home games in Weeks 12-14 — but not against the easiest opponents in New England, Chicago and Green Bay — which includes a 10-day layoff because of Thanksgiving. The home stand is followed by a winnable road game at Tampa Bay.
