Assistant head coach/offensive coordinator Jason Garrett was elevated to interim head coach when Dallas owner Jerry Jones decided to relieve Wade Phillips of his duties after the Cowboys were outscored 80-24 in their last two games in humiliating defeats to Jacksonville and Green Bay.
