Top 3 AFC Matchups – Week 3
Indianapolis wasted little time in reestablishing itself as one of the top teams in the conference after completely dismantling the New York Giants 38-14 last Sunday night. Houston pulled off a dramatic come-from-behind 30-27 OT victory over Washington to remain undefeated. Miami moved to 2-0 by grinding out a 14-10 win over Minnesota. Some early statements were made within a couple of divisions as the New York Jets thumped New England 28-14 in the AFC East and Cincinnati continued its mastery over Baltimore in the AFC North with a 15-10 win.
Here is a look at my top three matchups in the AFC for Week 3 of the NFL season. All odds are provided by BetUS.com.

Cleveland Browns @ Baltimore Ravens (-10 ½) Over/Under 37
Even after cleaning house at the end of last season and bringing in Jake Delhomme from Carolina, Cleveland is still having problems at the quarterback position. Delhomme missed last week’s game against Kansas City with an ankle injury and Seneca Wallace got the start. It is still unclear who will get the start in this week’s game.
Ray Lewis and Co. are fighting mad after receiving some questionable penalty calls that certainly helped the Bengals’ cause in last Sunday game. No matter what calls are made, if the Raven’s offense does not start generating some points this team is in serious trouble.
The Browns could be just what the doctor ordered as their offense is no match for Baltimore’s defense and they are having some serious issues stopping the run.

Indianapolis Colts (-6) @ Denver Broncos Over/Under: 48
Indianapolis quickly shook off its opening day loss to Houston and looked a lot like its former self in a one-sided win over the Giants in Week 2. Peyton Manning completely upstaged his younger brother by completing 20-of-26 attempts for 255 yards and three TD’s.
Denver made the most of its home opener with an impressive 31-14 over Seattle. The big question they face this week will be how does the team react to the suicide of WR Kenny McKinley who reportedly shot and killed himself sometime Monday.
The only real weakness of Indianapolis is its run defense, but the Broncos will be hard pressed to exploit this area as they are ranked 27th in rushing offense. Colts should roll again this week.

New York Jets @ Miami Dolphins (-2) Over/Under: 35
Miami is off to a 2-0 start with wins over Buffalo and Minnesota. The only problem is other than being able to run the ball, the Dolphins have no offense what so ever to speak of. They cannot keep on relying on their defense and turnovers to win games.
New York definitely showed some signs of life in its impressive win over New England last Sunday. QB Mark Sanchez finally developed a vertical passing game, throwing for 220 yards and three TD’s. Just when the Jets appear to be back on track, WR Braylon Edwards gets a DUI and CB Darrelle Revis is strapped with a strained left hamstring.
This game is setting up to be a ‘third yards and a cloud of dust’ kind of affair that will be decided by which team has the better field goal kicker (which happens to be the Jets).
