No. 20 USC (7-3, 4-3) at Oregon State (4-5, 3-3), ABC, 8:00 P.M. ET
Does losing to Washington State now make Oregon State the worst team in the PAC-10? Probably not, but losing three of its last four PAC-10 games sure helps mount a good case.
The Trojans have lost two of three in Reser Stadium, and even the victory was a slim one.
With the Beavers in jeopardy of missing the bowl season for the first time in five years, there should be a little more fight in Mike Riley’s squad. However, like wounded prey, they boys of Troy will be moving in for a kill as they move one win closer to completing a 10-win season.
The Beavers has played decent losing some close games until it all fell apart against the Cougars, who dominated them on all sides to the ball, including outgaining them offensively by more than 100 yards while shutting down speedster Jacquizz Rodgers and sacking QB Ryan Katz five times.
While Beavs need to win all of its remaining games to become bowl eligible, the Trojans are playing for nothing by pride.
USC has rebounded with back-to-back wins as they swept through Arizona on a standout performance from running back Marc Tyler, who put on a clinic rushing 31 times for 160 yards and one TD in their last outing against the No. 18 Wildcats.
If this is what USC will be serving up, there could be chaos in Corvallis.
Given the Beavers current problems and the mounting pressure to salvage a sinking ship, the Trojans have zero stress, which should be enough to give them the win.
