And away we go. In college football, the Oklahoma-Texas rivalry can stand up with the very best that any other conference has to offer, and it comes to the Cotton Bowl in Dallas once again this Saturday in a nationally televised game on ABC. Remember that the team that wins here will likely have the inside track to being the Big 12 South champion. It’s the start of a couple of weeks of what should be mega-marquee matchups for the league, with a pair of undefeated teams on tap next Thursday when No. 6 Nebraska travels to Kansas State.

vs.

Texas A&M @ Oklahoma State – 7:30 PM ET – ESPN

Texas A&M surprised everyone when it struggled with Florida International in its last outing, and the dynamic offense the Aggies run behind Jerrod Johnson will get its first real test of the season at Stillwater against a steadily-improving Oklahoma State team.

Prediction: Texas A&M by 3 – Bet Now

Odds: Texas A&M: +3 – Oklahoma State: -3 Over/Under: 67

vs.

Kansas @ Baylor – 12:00 PM ET

When candidates to be the worst team in both the Big 12 North and South meet up, does anybody care? In Waco they do. The Bears absolutely have to win this game in order to keep their slim bowl hopes alive and the Jayhawks still haven’t shown any consistency thus far. This could also be KU’s last chance for a victory this year.

Prediction: Kansas by 7 – Bet Now

Odds: Kansas: +9 – Baylor: -9 Over/Under: 51

vs.

#21 Texas @ #8 Oklahoma – 3:30 PM ET on ABC

The biggest game of the young season – if the Sooners win here, they can honestly say that they’re a national title contender. Longhorns win and they can save face after last week’s debacle against UCLA. Something to consider is that both quarterbacks – OU’s Landry Jones and UT’s Garrett Gilbert – are making their first start in the Red River Rivalry. Go with the more experienced Jones here.

Prediction: Oklahoma by 3 – Bet Now

Odds: Texas: +3.5 – Oklahoma: -3.5 Over/Under: 45

vs.

Georgia @ Colorado – 7:00 PM ET

Yes, believe it or not, Colorado has a chance to win this game. The Bulldogs are as down as they’ve been in the last decade and the Buffaloes responded well with a pair of victories after the shellacking they received at California. Still, though, Dan Hawkins is still CU’s coach and they’re still a mess. On the other sideline, Georgia’s Mark Richt is one of the nation’s best and will have his team ready for a stiff road challenge.

Prediction: Georgia by 10 – Bet Now

Odds: Georgia: -4.5 – Colorado: +4.5 Over/Under: 47.5

vs.

Texas Tech @ Iowa State – 7:00 PM ET

The Cyclones have struggled mightily so far this season, both with injuries and finishing games. Don’t expect the Red Raiders and Tommy Tuberville to take their foot off the gas pedal at Ames, Iowa, where they’ll want to build up some momentum before they run the gauntlet of the rest of the teams in the Big 12 South. That means a big day for Texas Tech QB Taylor Potts is on tap.

Prediction: Texas Tech by 20 – Bet Now

Odds: Texas Tech: -7 – Iowa State: +7 Over/Under: 52.5
