While the Mountain West Conference is enjoying a good year it certainly isn’t a result of anything Wyoming is doing – even though they gave BYU a very good game on a frigid night last month. They did so by holding the Cougars to an atypically frigid shooting game, from the field, from the line and from deep. The Cowboys are second to last in the conference and it would make their year and perhaps decade if they could snag a win. They covered in that earlier contest and are sometimes underrated with a 13-10-1 ATS record. Still this is not a good spot to back them as they have been pitiful on the road 0-10 SU and 2-7 ATS.

In a weird bit of scheduling every time the BYU Cougars beat the San Diego State Aztecs they turnaround and lose to New Mexico. When it was on the road it wasn’t too shocking but their 18 point home loss to the Lobos earlier this week got everyone’s attention. Yes they were missing their suspended starting forward but they also just stunk up the joint with some horrible shooting (they were outrebounded too). A date with Wyoming is just what the doctor ordered to right the ship and get them back into the good graces of the bracketologists in pursuit of that #1 seed. I don’t expect them to stumble again.

The current line on this one is BYU -20. I always hesitate when I see lines as big as this one as it only takes a few minutes of poor play to significantly affect the outcome.

Prediction: BYU gets a nice bit if scheduling to end the regular season on a more positive note. A fairly easy win should be in store.
