2009-2010 William & Mary Season Preview
David Schneider and Danny Sumner should provide coach Tony Shaver with a 1-2 punch that can drive the Tribe back into the middle of the CAA standings. The duo combined to take 752 of the team’s 1,592 field-goal attempts last season, so a third scoring option desperately needs to step up. Quinn McDowell is a talented swingman who shot 50 percent from the floor last year while tying Sumner for the team lead with 4.4 rebounds per game. A post presence will be a must as opponents recorded 110 blocks – 41 more than the Tribe – last year. Discipline is also a major key after the team was 11th in the conference in turnover margin.
