2009-2010 UNC Wilmington Season Preview

Benny Moss’s fourth year at the helm should see the Seahawks improve significantly and fly back into contention. Moss returns four starters, nine players who saw double figures in minutes and added some talented recruits. However, sophomores Jerel Stephenson and Kevon Moore did leave the program in late spring. Chad Tomko will once again be the catalyst for Moss, as he was the team’s leading scorer and was fifth in assist-to-turnover ratio in the CAA. Johnny Wolf combined with Tomko for 143 3-point shots in 2008-09. Dominique Lacy needs to improve his inside touch while becoming even more of a threat on the boards. The Seahawks also need to improve defensively, as opponents shot at a 50.8 percent clip and out-rebounded them by 7.2 per game a year ago.
