2010-2011 UC Riverside Season Preview

The nickname and the coach remain the same, but there is little else linking this group of Highlanders with the team that suited up last season. Talk about a wholesale roster renovation: only one of the players in uniform during 2009-10, forward David Chavarria (who started four times), returns. One of those defections was a whopper: two-time first-team all-conference selection Kyle Austin announced on June 24 – the day of the NBA Draft – that he was bypassing his senior season to pursue a professional career. JC transfer Kevin Bradshaw gets first dibs at trying to provide all the productivity that was lost when Austin bailed.
