2009-2010 Troy Season Preview
A team comprised entirely of juniors and seniors reversed a 4-14 conference record after being picked last (by a wide margin) in the pre-season poll in 2008. Troy, the only school to defeat every conference team, went 14-2 before being upset by three points in the conference quarterfinals by rival and sixth-seeded South Alabama. First-team selection Brandon Hazzard (the only player in the conference’s 32-year history to be named Player of the Week in three successive weeks), Mississippi State transfer Richard Delk and Michael Vogler give Troyan all-senior backcourt – and the conference’s best.
