2009-2010 Santa Barbara Season Preview

Despite going the entire season without a twoyear starter at point guard and suffering several key injuries, the Gauchos closed the 2008-09 campaign with eight wins in 10 games and are now in prime position for their first NCAA bid in eight years. The return of that point guard – Justin Joyner – is a big reason for the optimism. So is the presence of a stout sophomore class, led by promising post player Jaime Serna and guards James Nunnally and Will Brew. They are now joined by Orlando Johnson, who averaged 12.4 points as a freshman two years ago at Loyola Marymount. This is the qeepest team Bob Williams has coached.
