Purdue Boilermakers vs Siena Saints Preview & Prediction
Injury may mean a short run for Purdue since Robbie Hummel went down. Rebounding is the main issue, and Johnson will need to focus and carry the weight. He has the ability, and Moore is a nice insurance plan. Grant and Hart have been hot as of late and Kramer is the defensive whiz. There are scoring options but unless Johnson can come up big it may not be enough meaning a short run for the Boilermakers.
Siena does have talent and a strong coaching staff. A team of scrappy veterans who keep the score relatively low with a strong defense. Fouls will not be a concern with the fewest in Division I, and they can shoot from the line on their end. Moore is down scoring wise, but has game smarts to know what to do. Franklin learned to use his strength and quickness; look to see him at the line as he draws contact often. If the team can focus on midrange shots they will be tough.
The odds makers have the Boilermakers as -4 -point favorites.
Purdue has shown signs of weakness after Hummel’s injury, while Siena has been on a tear winning five of their last six. However, I expect the Boilermakers to win this one with a pair of crucial free throws in the final minutes.
