The letters APR might as well have been DOA for the Vikings, whose failures in retention and academic progress got them a postseason ban from the NCAA. So Big Sky teams might want to be on alert during the regular season, presuming coach Tyler Geving can keep the fires stoked. The Vikings go small already – even 6-8 forward Phil Nelson is more of a perimeter threat – but now holdover Melvin Jones will be joined by two JC mites in Charles Odum and Terry Coleman in a league where the guards seem to be getting smaller each year.
