2009-2010 Pepperdine Season Preview
With 11 different starting lineups, the Waves didn’t lead the league in continuity – but Tom Asbury’s return to the bench brought a little credibility back to a program on a six-year slide. If college players truly make their biggest gains after their freshman year, the Waves – with eight sophomores – could be the WCC’s most-improved team. The best of the bunch is guard Keion Bell, but he also may have set an NCAA record for worst assist-turnover ratio (70-121), a team-wide plague. A couple of the others – Dane Suttle Jr., Taylor Darby and Corbin Moore – must assert themselves more often than once every few games.
