Ohio State Buckeyes vs UC-Santa Barbara Gauchos Preview & Prediction

Ohio is led by future star Evan Turner. He is the team’s leading scorer, and rebounder. He steals and gets assists, but sometimes turns the ball over too much. Beyond him, depth is a question and the team isn’t that big which can lead to some defensive problems. Lauderdale is a leading blocker and Madsen contributes a few. With the Buckeyes relying so heavily on a few starters, Coach Matta needs to find a way to keep them fresh. Barring injury, with a good rotation of the bench and continued strong shooting this is a tough team.

Johnson is fresh off Big West’s player of the year honors for UCSB. He can do it all well but lacks a supporting offensive cast. The one scoring gem from the bench is Powell.  Somogyi is developing and for now uses his size to create a wall upfront, although with some fouls.  With few offensive options, the defense needs to be sharp and they need to hit the three.

The odds makers have the Buckeyes as -17 -point favorites.

One word –Turner.  This kid is can’t miss a shot at the moment. How can you bet against Ohio in this one? Buckeyes get the win by 10.
