Northeastern Players to Watch: 5t. Louis product Ryan Pierson could be the big man who steps in to replace Manny Adako and Nkem Ojougboh. Pierson should bring strength inside, as well as some shooting touch to the paint.

2010-2011 Northeastern Season Preview
Absorbing the loss of inside-outside duo Matt Janning and Manny Adako will be a tough assignment for the Huskies. Guard Chaisson Allen looks capable of stepping up his game and taking over as an unquestioned leader for Bill Coen. Allen is a picture of consistency as he scored double figures in 15 of his last 16 games and led Northeastern with a 1.6-1.0 assist-to-turnover ratio. The Huskies lack depth inside as Nkem Ojougboh left along with Adako. Coen signed a six-year extension in the spring as the Huskies’ brass acknowledged his turning the program around after guiding Northeastern to a 44-28 record in CAA action.

2010-2011 Northeastern Predictions
The other option would be to put the more experienced Bataille in the starting lineup and move Janning to the wing. Not only would that give the team two ballhandlers on the floor, but it puts the team’s five most experienced players in the starting lineup. But no matter who starts, this Northeastern team looks a lot like they did last year and that means the entire team could be tired by the end of the season. While the starting five might be the best in the league, Northeastern will have to rely on unproven newcomers to fill in the gaps.
