2010-2011 Georgia Southern Season Preview
Coach Charlton Young looks forward to a returning nucleus of three senior starters plus a strong recruiting class to try to catapult GSU back to respectability. Guard Willie Powers will be at the forefront. He was the Eagles’ scoring and assist leader last season. Rory Spencer will complement Powers with his 6-8 frame and improving inside game. He shot 51.7 percent from the floor last season and led GSU in rebounds and blocks. The Eagles were a horrid defensive team and were outrebounded by seven per game, so the emphasis will be on those two areas in the early going.
