2009-2010 Eastern Illinois Season Preview
A healthy Romain Martin made all the difference for Eastern Illinois last season. Martin, who missed most of his sophomore season with a knee injury, bounced back and averaged 15.4 points per game. Without Martin, Eastern Illinois went 7-22; with Martin back last season, the Panthers went to the OVC Tournament, the first trip back for Eastern Illinois since 2005. Tyler Laser joins Martin in the backcourt and freshman forward Shaun Pratl should make an immediate impact inside for coach Mike Miller. Pratl was named the top male prep athlete in Chicago by the Sun-Times after being named all-state in basketball and football.
