The Friday Night Ivy League challenge continues as Big Green basketball heats up when they host the visiting Cornell Big Red.
Dartmouth is 4-12 overall as well as 0-2 in the Ivy League, while the Big Red is also 4-12 and is also 0-2 in the conference.

Last season, the Big Green went 0-2 against the Big Red, with an average 26-point margin of defeat. Over the last four years, Dartmouth has a record of 0-8 against Cornell, including 0-4 at home.
Dartmouth will be looking to recover from having lost five games in a row, including a 59-50 loss to Harvard last Saturday. The Big Green blew a perfect opportunity to grab their first conference win leading by as many as 12 points in the second half, but allowed Harvard to roar back with a 23-2 run to win the contest.
Meanwhile, Cornell continued to struggle, dropping a pair of narrow decisions to Columbia to fall to 0-2 in Ivy League play. The Big Red’s two losses came by a combined eight points. It was Cornell’s seventh and eighth loss this season by five points or less. The team’s 70-66 defeat at the hands of the Lions snapped a 22-game home win streak against Ancient Eight foes despite 16 points apiece by junior guard Chris Wroblewski and senior forward Aaron Osgood.
Cornell has a solid edge in this one, with a 65 to 58 points per game advantage.
These are the Ivy League’s two most offensively challenged teams. Both have cumulative shooting percentages under 40 percent. Cornell shoots the three better, and that could come in handy if the game should somehow turn into a shootout.
It would be way too easy to say that whoever has the better offensive night wins. However, I expect just that as the Big Green grab a close one at home.
