2009-2010 Cleveland State Season Preview
With J’Nathan Bullock trying out for the New York Jets as a tight end and Cedric Jackson looking for work in pro basketball, the Vikings won’t be a league favorite as they were a year ago. Then again, they surprised even their most fervent backers by beating Butler in the Horizon League Tournament title game at Butler, then upsetting Wake Forest in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Seven lettermen return from that team that took Cleveland State’s first league championship. All this after the Vikings split their first eight Horizon games. If they can survive the blazing sun at a preseason tournament in Cancun, maybe they can splice together a second consecutive 20-win season for coach Gary Waters.
