BYU Cougars vs Florida Gators Preview & Prediction
BYU’s lack of scoring in the paint may mean the end of their season, with most scoring coming from the guards. They have been here before, but don’t have much to show for it and it may take the steam from their sails. Fredette is an offensive force with 20 ppg. Emery is good for the three and some steals. Hartsock is a rebounder. The key will be how tough is this team and if they can provide enough defense and to allow Fredette to keep them in the game.
Florida is well balanced with five guys who can score. The bench doesn’t provide much, so they will be relying on the starters to carry the load. Walker is small and quick, but fearless as well. Boynton seems to have lacked confidence and is so far is a bust. They take too many three point shots because they get overpowered in the paint. Don’t expect a deep run from Florida; this is a team to watch next year.
The odds makers have the Cougars as -4 ½ -point favorites.
Whoever can win the battle inside will walk away with the victory in this one. I expect BYU to flex a bit more muscle on their way to round two.
