The Boston College Eagles head south this Saturday afternoon to Chapel Hill to take on the North Carolina Tar Heels in a matchup of teams from the ACC. Tip-off from the Dean E. Smith Center is set for 4 p.m. and the game will be broadcast nationally on ESPN.
Boston College has dropped four of its last six games but is coming off a 76-72 victory over Maryland as a 3 ½-point home underdog last Saturday. The Eagles remain a bubble team with an overall record of 16-9 straight-up (12-9 against the spread) and 6-5 SU in the ACC.
Reggie Jackson leads a group of four players scoring in double-figures with an average of 18.5 points a game. Joe Trapani is second in scoring with 14.7 points and averaging a team-high 7.5 rebounds a game. Boston College is shooting 46.3 from the field and averaging 73 points a game.
North Carolina improved its overall record to 19-6 SU (12-10 ATS) and 9-2 SU in the conference with a 78-64 win over Wake Forest this past Tuesday but it failed to cover as a 22 ½-point home favorite. The Tar Heels currently trail Duke in the ACC standings by a game and a half.

Tyler Zeller is the team’s leading scorer with 14.5 points a game while John Henson leads in rebounds with an average of nine a game. North Carolina is shooting 45.6 percent from the field but just 32.1 percent from three-point range. It is averaging 78 points a game and remains one of the best rebounding teams in the country with 42 a game.
North Carolina rolled over the Eagles 106-74 earlier this month as a 2 ½-point road favorite and should have little trouble winning and covering the spread this time around at home.
