2010-2011 Appalachian State Season Preview

The Mountaineers’ program has been put in the hands of inexperienced assistant Jason Capel, a quizzical decision to say the least after Buzz Peterson’s second tour of duty lasted just one season before he bolted for UNC Wilmington in April. Capel’s coaching experience is exactly one year – he was Peterson’s assistant during the 2009-10 campaign. Capel returns leading scorer Donald Sims, who shot 46 percent from the floor while averaging 34.4 minutes. Inside, Isaac Butts and Andre Williamson could be a daunting matchup for opponents as they logged 85 and 81 blocks, respectively. The Mountaineers led the league in field-goal percentage a year ago and Butts and Williamson could make it a trend.
