Sharp Shooting Warriors Could Ride Momentum To West Finals

There was a time around the NBA All-Star break when online sports betting basketball experts wondered aloud if the Golden State Warriors had enough left in the tank to make the postseason. Fast-forward a couple of months later, and after dismissing the Denver Nuggets in their opening round series, the Warriors have stolen home court from the San Antonio Spurs with an impressive game-two win that evens their Western Conference second round series at one win each. Golden State has shot the lights out in each of the first two games, and the sharp shooting abilities is one of the few areas where they seem to have the advantage. The Warriors will need to continue to hit shots at a high percentage in order to have any shot in this series, but if they do it wouldn’t be a major shock to see them knock off the Spurs and get to the Western Conference Finals.

Stephen Curry has come in to his own during these live betting playoffs, establishing his self as the type of pure scorer that can hit from anywhere on the court and create for his self when seemingly nothing is there. The former seventh-overall pick ranks third in the NBA with an average of 26.5 points per game, and first in the league with 8.9 assists per game. It isn’t just on the offensive end that Curry is proving how good he can be either, as he is in the top-five in assists averaging two per game, and is using his speed to overcome a lack of size and pure strength at that end of the floor.

What makes Curry’s play that much more impressive is the way that his teammates have stepped up around him as well. Klay Thompson went off for a game-high 34 points in game two, scoring 17 of them in the second quarter as well. Thompson was hitting nearly every open look he had, and the Warriors as a team shot 11-for-23 from beyond the arc. Golden State did an excellent job of spacing the floor and finding ways to get guys open, and it was impressive the way that Thompson and Curry worked it when they were out there together. Carl Landry and Harrison Barnes were the only other two scorers that hit double-digit point totals, reinforcing how important the price per head tandem of Thompson and Curry are.

After forcing double-overtime at San Antonio in game one and winning game two, a number of the sites listed on the sportsbook reviews still haven’t made Golden State the favorites in the series. That makes the Warriors an even better value pick at this point, with the chance to ride the momentum all the way to the Western Conference Finals as long as Curry and Thompson continue to shoot the lights out.
