The Dallas Mavericks travel to take on the Portland Trailblazers in Game 3 of their Western Conference playoff series. Dallas leads the series 2-0 in a best-of seven format.

In losses to Portland this season, a big problem for Dallas was lack of offensive production from point guard Jason Kidd, who has come alive offensively thus far in the series. Throw in Dirk Nowitzki being Dirk Nowitzki and scoring in the low 30s, the Mavs look sharp. Did we mention there’s been a Peja Stojakovic sighting? He came off the bench to score 21 in the last game, including 5 of 10 from 3-point range. That’s a lot of offense, y’all.

How tough a place has the Rose Garden been to play this year? Tough enough that they turned a mediocre Portland squad into a playoff team. Tough enough that even in a 2-0 series hole the Blazers are still favored by six points. And that’s great and all … but unless Brandon Roy from 2008 found a time machine and shows up to play it just ain’t happening for Portland. Doesn’t matter how good LaMarcus Aldridge plays.

Dallas has appeared as locked in as it has all year in its first two games of this series. Portland must hope it plays one of its best games of the year.

The odds makers have the Portland Trailblazers as a -5.5 point favorite with an over/under of 186.5.
