Last meeting: The Knicks were destroyed by the Sun 132-96 in their visit to Phoenix last march.

New York has definitely improved this year but they are still a very inconsistent team.  After narrowly losing to Boston last month they went into a funk where they lost to Cleveland on the road before they rebounded with quality wins at home against Chicago and Oklahoma City.  Most middle tier teams play much better at home while struggling on the road but the Knicks are the exact opposite.  They are an amazing 13-4 away from Madison Square Gardens and are well rested heading into Phoenix on Friday night.  It will be a homecoming for Amare Stoudemire so it will be interesting to see how he responds.  He has been superb this season and was the leading scorer for the Suns when the Knicks visited them last season.

The Suns continued their losing way on Wednesday dropping a close home game to the Lakers 99-95.  This team is really struggling right now and there are a lot of rumours swirling about a possible trade of point guard and leader Steve Nash.  That kind of thing never helps a struggling club and I can’t imagine who they would get in return that would be considered fair value.  Odds are they would just get an expiring contract and this team would sink even deeper.  The best thing the Suns have going for them in this one is familiarity with opposing and former coach Mike D’Antoni.  They know what to expect from the Knicks and the outcome will be decided by whichever teams has the hot hand.  The Suns still have decent scorers but they have to perform.

The current line on this one is Phoenix -1.5.  The way they are playing you just can’t back the Suns right now.  New York is a great ATS and ML play.  Snatch this one up before it moves in the wrong direction.

Prediction:  Look for Stoudemire to be a differencemaker again, this time for New York.  Knicks are feeling great after knocking off the Spurs earlier in the week and roll into Phoenix focuses and rested.  They love the tempo that the Suns prefer and are better at that style than Phoenix right now.
