Last meeting: Boston 110 – Chicago 105 (OT)

The Bulls arrive in Boston off of a humbling loss at home to the Orlando Magic.  You could also call it embarrassing as they lost by 29 points on their home floor.  They shot only 42% from the floor and were outrebounded 2:1.  If they put forth another effort like that on the road at Boston the results could be even uglier.  The Bulls generally hold their own against the C’s.  The matchup between Derrick Rose and Rajon Rondo is spirited and the Bulls nearly upset the Celtics a couple of years ago in the playoffs.  Chicago is trying to climb the mountain and Boston is at the top so each game has meaning…

…at least it does for the Bulls.  The Celtics are enjoying a five game winning streak and seem more concerned with the Heat than anybody else this season.  This team is a bit nicked up but now that they have Rondo back in the lineup they are looking very good.  Their last loss was on the road at Toronto without him and they are a totally different team when he is not in the lineup, both offensively and defensively.  Rondo is enjoying his best season to date, leading the league in assists and filling in the scoring gaps when necessary. This should be an entertaining game to watch as all the key players on Boston have younger, aggressive Bulls looking to prove something.

The Celtics generally get a team’s best game and this should be the case as they leadoff Friday night on ESPN.  If Rose outplays Rondo then the Bulls will be in a good position to win but the challenge is that Rondo is such a disruptive force on defense in addition to running the squad.  Boston has only one home loss and this doesn’t look like a spot for another
