Time for some serious NBA betting: The National Basketball Association (NBA) has officially announced the starting lineup and the list of reserve players selected for the 62nd edition of the NBA All-Star Game. The game, which is part of the annual NBA All Star Weekend, will take place on Sunday, Feb. 17, at the Toyota Center, home of the Houston Rockets.
This will be the third time that Houston hosts the All-Star Game. The city had previously hosted the event in 1989 at the Astrodome and 2006 at the Toyota Center.
Team Lineups:
Voted to start in the West are Clippers’ Chris Paul and Blake Griffin, Lakers’ star Kobe Bryant (Lakers) and Dwight Howard, and Thunder’s Kevin Durant.
Meanwhile, Spurs’ Tim Duncan and Heat’s Chris Bosh headline the list of players selected by team coaches as reserves for the 2013 NBA All-Star Game. Joining Duncan in the West Conference are Portland Trail Blazers’ LaMarcus Aldridge, Rockets’ James Harden, Warriors’ David Lee, Spurs’ Tony Parker, Grizzlies’ Zach Randolph and Thunder’s Russell Westbrook.
Selected to start in the East were Celtics’ Rajon Rondo (Out due Injury), Dwyane Wade (Heat), LeBron James (Heat), Carmelo Anthony (Knicks) and Garnett (Celtics). With Rajon Rondo out, NBA commissioner David Stern named Brooklyn Nets center Brook Lopez as Eastern Conference reserve for All-Star Game. Lopez is the only member of the Nets taking part in the 2013 NBA All-Star Weekend.
Players selected as reserves in the East are Tyson Chandler (New York Knicks), Paul George (Indiana Pacers), Jrue Holiday (Philadelphia 76ers), Kyrie Irving (Cleveland Cavaliers) and Joakim Noah (Chicago Bulls) and Bulls’ Luol Deng.
The Eastern Conference All-Stars lead the all-time series 36–25. The West won in 2011 and 2012; however, the two teams have alternated victories in the last eight games, with each team claiming 4 victories.
