vs.

Colorado at California – 12:30 PM ET on FSN

It what appears to be a preview of the future PAC-12, the Golden Bears will face much stiffer competition than a UC Davis team that they stream rolled 52-3 in their season opener in Week 1. Colorado looked like a much-improved team making quick work of cross-town rivals Colorado State. The Cal defense should have a heyday against a Buffalos O-line that allowed 43 sacks, but don’t count out a Colorado — a team that always seem to show up for the big games. Up next: at Nevada

Prediction: Cal – Bet Now

Odds: Colorado: +9.5 – California: -9.5 Over/Under: 50.5

vs.

#11 Oregon at Tennessee – 4:00 PM on ESPN2

The Ducks dominated New Mexico, but Tennessee should prove to be a much tougher challenge in Week 2. The Volunteers likewise bulldozed a weaker Tennessee-Martin 50-0, but despite the win the Vols did not look anywhere near the same dominate force they were in the 90s. However they will be a formidable test for Oregon quarterback Darron Thomas who faces his first taste of a big-time road venue. The good news for the Ducks is that they will return running back LaMichael James for this one. Up next: Portland State

Prediction: Oregon – Bet Now

Odds: Oregon : -12 – Tennessee: +12 Over/Under: 53.5

vs.

Stanford at UCLA – 7:30 PM ET on ESPN

The big question here will be how the Cardinal fair in the post Tony Gerhart Era. Stanford looked good in their opener scoring six times in their first seven possessions in a 52-17 thumping of Sacramento State on Saturday. The Bruins on the other hand will be looking for a better performance from its defense after falling apart late in the game against Kansas State over the weekend. If UCLA wants to win this one, they will have to play better against the run. Even without Gerhart, Stanford will have the edge in this one. Up next: Stanford hosts Wake Forest and UCLA plays host in their home opener to Houston.

Prediction: Stanford – Bet Now

Odds: Stanford : -6 – UCLA: +6 Over/Under: 51.5

vs.

Virginia at #14 USC – 7:30 PM ET on FSN

The Trojans beat the Cavs 52-7 the last time these two teams met back in 2008. A lot has happened since then, including a change at the head coaching position for both schools. Virginia ended a four-year losing streak of season openers with a 34-13 victory against Richmond and former USC quarterback Aaron Corp on Saturday night, but at the same time allowed the Spiders to rack up 333 yards, including a 70-yard touchdown run and 183 yards through the air. Despite USC’s late game defensive lapses at Hawaii, they were able to hold on for a 49-36 victory in Thursday night’s opener. It won’t take long for the Trojans’ defense to come around to form; I expect it to be this weekend with a few more days rest and a couple of practices. Up next: at Minnesota. Up next: at Minnesota

Prediction: USC – Bet Now

Odds: Virginia : +19.5 – USC: -19.5 Over/Under: 49.5

vs.

The Citadel at Arizona – 7:00 PM ET

Nick Foles tossed for three touchdowns to help Arizona pound Toledo 41-2 on Friday night. The ‘Cats young defense did a nice job limiting the Rocket’s top offense in the Mid-American Conference a year ago to just 80 yards rushing, and 103 passing. The Citadel is coming off a 56-14 win against Chowan, a private school in N.C. with a total enrollment of 1,100. Well, Arizona ain’t no Chowan. Up next: Iowa.

Prediction: Arizona – Bet Now

vs.

Northern Arizona at Arizona State – 7:00 PM ET

The Sun Devils beat up on Portland State holding then to a pathetic 54 yards rushing on 29 carries, while ASU RB Marshall finished with 104 yards on four carries in a 54-9 pounding on Sunday in Tempe. New Sun Devils quarterback Steven Threet also had a good first start, and now will get another preseason morsel to sink his teeth into in preparation for his first major test at Wisconsin on Sept. 18. NAU is coming off a 48-0 win against Western New Mexico, a team that hasn’t won a game since Nov 08, 2008. . Up next: at Wisconsin.

Prediction: Arizona State – Bet Now

vs.

Syracuse at Washington – 4:00 PM ET on FSN

The Huskies are coming off a disappointing 23-17 loss to BYU, as Washington’s Jake Locker passed for 266 yards, but missed passes on two fourth-down conversion attempts in the final period that could have put the Huskies ahead after allowing the Cougars to take the lead late in the third. Now the Huskies will try to put it behind them as they prepare to host the Orange, a team Locker has had success against, winning his first career start as a redshirt freshman in 2007 with a 42-12 win at Syracuse. The Orange beat Akron 29-3 last weekend, winning their season opener for the first time since 2003. Locker should put up some good numbers in this one. Up next: Nebraska

Prediction: Washington – Bet Now

Odds: Syracuse : +13.5 – Washington: -13.5 Over/Under: 48

vs.

Montana State at Washington State – 7:00 PM ET

In what will likely be the only game the Cougars will be favored in all season, it is a must-win for Paul Wulff whose team was pistol whipped by the Cowboys 65-17 over the weekend. Washington State has now gone 3-22 over the past two seasons and things keep getting worse. Now they play Montana State, which is an FCS school in the Big Sky Conference. However, the Bobcats just blew out Fort Lewis in their season opener 59-10, so if they are not careful, this is one cupcake that the Cougars might choke on. Up next: at SMU

Prediction: Washington State – Bet Now
