Jets No Match For Chargers

NFL betting fans know that the New York Jets and their head coach, Rex Ryan, are one arrogant team. A few weeks ago, Jets head coach Rex Ryan was humbled by when he thought that his team was eliminated from the playoffs after a tough home loss to the Atlanta Falcons.

Fast forward a few weeks and the Jets not only made the playoffs but now their head coach thinks he’s got the team to beat. At a recent press conference, Ryan suggested that he’s got the team to beat in the playoffs, which may be an overstatement.

The Jets disposed of the Cincinnati Bengals on the road last week but this week’s task is going to much more difficult. They’ll have to travel to the West Coast to stop the San Diego Chargers, who are on an 11-game winning streak.

Last Week

While the San Diego Chargers had the week off last week while they rested their players, the Jets were busy with the Cincinnati Bengals.

For a second straight week, the Jets topped the Bengals – this time in Cincinnati. The script played out pretty much the same as the Jets ran all over the Bengals and didn’t allow them to accomplish anything with their offense. The Jets had Darrelle Revis blanket Chad Ochocinco and the Bengals really had no other answers.

But there were some concerns that surfaced for the Jets going forward. Their top-ranked defense still gave up 169 rushing yards to Cedric Benson, which gives the indication that they might give up a lot more to a good team. They’ll have to tighten up this week if they want to defeat the Chargers/

This Week

The Jets Super Bowl odds aren’t great because not many people think they’ll win this week. Not only are they the biggest underdog on the board but they simply don’t have much of an offense if their running game is shut down.

The Chargers know this and their whole plan will be to shutdown the Jets rushing attack and force the game into rookie quarterback Mark Sanchez’ hands.

On offense, the Chargers are a multifaceted team that should be able to score at will at home – even against the Jets. They are rested and they are ready for this game.
