NFL Betting – Week 16 Picks

Denver Broncos @ Philadelphia Eagles

NFL Line: Eagles -7

The Denver Broncos are coming off a very ugly performance at home against the Oakland Raiders and if they want any hope of winning in Philadelphia this week – and keep their playoff spot – they better turn things around.

For the Broncos, this has to be their Super Bowl. They are currently 8-6 and there are seven other teams at 7-7 just waiting for them to slip up. If they do, they will need all sorts of miraculous tiebreakers to get into the playoffs.

The Broncos will be in tough this week as their offense just isn’t clicking right now and their defense is collapsing too. That vaunted Broncos defense that wouldn’t give up points in the second half or fourth quarter has all of the sudden been very giving. The Broncos let the Oakland Raiders, who used their second, third and fourth string quarterbacks last week, drive down the field for a game-winning score with less than a minute to go in the game.

This week in Philadelphia, the Broncos are going up against a very hot team. The Eagles have won five straight games and have been lighting up the scoreboard in the process. The Eagles haven’t scored less than 23 points in a contest in any of their last six and averaged more than 30 in that span.

The Broncos can’t afford to get into a shootout – they’ll have to find a way to slow down the red hot Donovan McNabb-DeSean Jackson combo and keep this game in the teens. If they can’t, they will on the outside of the playoffs looking in during Week 17.

NFL Predictions: Eagles -7

Baltimore Ravens @ Pittsburgh Steelers

Logans Odds (Logans Sportsbook Review): Steelers -2.5

The Baltimore Ravens had a streak of eight weeks where they alternated wins and losses, but they have finally strung together two straight wins. The Pittsburgh Steelers will be happy to do the same this week.

The Ravens offense has keyed the winning streak as they have scored a total of 79 points in the last two games while giving up just a total of 10. This week will be a much bigger challenge on the road in Pittsburgh.

The Steelers will again be without star safety Troy Polamalu, which is going to hurt. Last week, they needed the offense to get the win but their defense was again abused. But a win is a win no less and the Steelers should finally be a little more confident.

This will be a physical game but look for the Super Bowl Champs to come with another signature win and improve their playoff standing

NFL Pick: Steelers -2.5
